Building Young Minds: Why Architecture Clubs Are the Future of Creative Learning
At Urban Fun Young Architects School Clubs, we believe every child has the power to imagine, create, and shape the world around them. Architecture isn’t just about buildings — it’s about problem-solving, teamwork, and big ideas brought to life in small hands.
From after-school clubs to holiday camps, our programmes in London are designed to inspire young thinkers through hands-on model making, sketching, drawing, city planning, and sustainability projects.
Why Architecture for Kids?
Children are natural builders. Give them blocks, and they’ll build towers. Give them ideas, and they’ll build worlds.
Architecture teaches:
Creative thinking – turning imagination into real-life designs.
STEM skills – integrating science, technology, engineering, art, and maths.
Problem solving – learning how to build eco-friendly, safe, and smart structures.
Teamwork – collaborating to design cities of the future.
Our mission is to nurture these skills early, so children grow up not just as learners but as young change-makers.
What Happens in an Urban Fun Architecture Club?
Every session is carefully designed by PhD-level urban planners and educators to make architecture fun and accessible for children aged 5–12.
Our young architects:
Design dream houses and sustainable buildings
Plan future cities and neighbourhoods
Sketch floor plans and create bubble diagrams
Build 3D models with eco-friendly materials
Learn how architecture connects to people, culture, and the environment
We run clubs during school terms and offer holiday camps in Twickenham and across London.
Holiday Camps That Spark Imagination
Looking for something more inspiring than a regular camp? Our Urban Fun Holiday Camps combine playful learning with real architectural concepts.
Over three days, children work on a mini design project — from idea to sketch to model — and present their work like real architects. It’s an experience that builds confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
Perfect for families who want meaningful holiday experiences that are both educational and fun.
Locations & Age Groups
Our clubs run at selected schools and community spaces in Twickenham and Richmond-upon-Thames.
We offer programmes for:
KS1 (Ages 5–7): Introduction to architecture and playful design
KS2 (Ages 8–12): Advanced creative challenges and team projects
We also collaborate with schools that want to bring architecture clubs directly into their after-school programmes.
